You know those people that tell you they ‘always knew’ they wanted to be a musician, or a lawyer, or a heart surgeon, ever since they were five years old?  Well, I wasn’t one of those people.  Growing up, I never really knew what I wanted to be.  My mum wanted me to be a teacher, and I knew I definitely did not want to be one of those (hats off to teachers!).

Looking back though, it doesn’t surprise me that I ended up being a writer.  For as long as I can remember I have loved to write – stories, poetry, diary entries, essays, anything.  I’ve always been fascinated by language; where words come from and how they fit together to express concepts and emotions.  After completing a Modern Languages degree (Spanish, in case you’re interested!) I finally realised that I wanted a job where I could write all the time, and went back to college to study journalism.

Fast forward almost 15 years and I still love writing.  I feel so lucky to have found a job that never gives me the Sunday blues.  I’ve learned a lot – about writing, but also about research, and most importantly about building a rapport with people, and telling stories.

Loom is my new adventure in storytelling.

As a journalist and editor, I’ve discovered that lots of people struggle to find the words to tell their story, even the people with amazing stories to tell.  In every community, in every town all over the world, there are ordinary people doing incredible things – people with vision, expertise and passion.  People with important things to say.

My aim is to help you tell your story.  To reach out to your client with language that informs and inspires, that speaks to them about who you are and what you’re about.  I’ll work with you to develop clear, compelling communications that capture your unique voice and message.  It’s kind of sad really, the amount of satisfaction I get from finding the right words.  Why not let me help you find yours?

I’m based in Northern Ireland – Omagh, Co. Tyrone, to be precise – but I’ve worked for clients across Ireland and the UK.   I’m a friendly, chatty kinda gal so if you’re wondering whether to get in touch then stop thinking, and just say hello!  Drop me an email to claire@loomcreativecontent.com or come and find me on Facebook.
